We welcomed the Volta Regional NADMO Director in person of Mr. Pascal Agbagba and his deputy for operation Mr. Dodzi Adams fellowing the calls with the District Chief Executive for Anloga District, Mad. Sandra Seyram Kpedor. The Anloga NADMO team with the regional executives following the update floods and the current Fuveme disaster toured and assessed as the worst-hit areas mentioned already including Fuveme sea and Anyanui lagoon where the estuary is and with another observation of sand mining from the beach side. And again during this touring we first engaged with Agorbledokui traditional council of elders where introduction was done by Mr. Ishmael James Korku Agbotui, district director for administration and the lead team director for technical and operation, Mr. Victory Kwashigah Ahiaku, and with the fellowing traditional leaders during the meeting were; Hanua Dosu Habada, Francis Kwodzovia Habada ( WO1) and the ruling Chief Togbui Tsimi (V) for a brief talks for a lasting solutions to their problems.
During the tour some key observations with challenges were noticed such as the victims have no sleeping places to lay their head and most of the affected populace have to seek safe heaven and use the only street connecting the communities to cook and feed themselves. To some extent, what contributed to the floods was due to an engineering flaw from road construction. The culverts beneath were too small to contain large volumes flowing from the Avu lagoon down south.
Challenges
Connecting one community to the other is a challenges, where livelihood has been destroy since their farmlands is submerged and most of the basic schools been closed down with imminent danger of health issues.
The NADMO team remark of opportunity to stress the urgent need for help from the government to individualism who can for rapid relief support for our brothers and sisters in the areas within the Anloga District.
